BOM update with Paul Birch, Acting Flood Services Manager

Bureau Network Transition

A determination was made in October 2014 by the 'Australia & New Zealand Emergency Management Committee' (ANZEMC), for the Bureau of Meteorology to transition the maintenance of Flood Warning Network infrastructure back to their respective asset owners. This decision was endorsed by the 'Police, Crime and Community Safety' Ministerial Council. The deadline for this transition of maintenance to occur is December 2019.

Status of the Bureau's 'ENVIROMON' data collection software

The Enviromon replacement is still in the tender process with a replacement not yet decided upon. In the interim the Bureau will continue to provide application support for Enviromon.
